I’ve been tagged by my friend and fellow poet, Natalie Giarratano, to post a poem of mine (published, early draft, loved or hated) each day for five days and each day, I’m to tag another poet to join the challenge. For day #1 I’m selecting my poem “A Trip to the Indiana State Museum,” which was published here by Heron Tree in November 2014.
I wrote this poem on a trip to Indianapolis where I was visiting my now husband. I actually wrote the first draft while waiting for him to finish working the night after we visited the museum. Here are some pictures of some early drafts I wrote in my journal:
